Greasy Grace

This from our IV staff meeting yesterday...

In the Bible, oil is almost always a sign of blessing. In fact, the more of it, the better.

Therefore, oil is a good thing, a sign of God's abundant provision and blessing.

Therefore, oily and greasy foods are also a good thing. In fact, the more oily and greasy, the more abundantly it celebrates God's gracious provision.

Therefore, we are invited to delight ourselves in the greasiest of fare.

Therefore, Bojangle's is the holy of holies.

And if you don't know what Bojangle's is...well, it's a southern thing, ya'll wouldn't understand.

Now that's a good staff meeting.

Hmm... no Bojangles in the north... that must be our problem... :-P

kristen, i think we've tapped into a significant geo-spiritual insight here.

clearly the reason why the north is more secularized than the south is the lack of bojangles...shoot, just the generally less-greasy cooking in general i think has had tremendous spiritual consequences.

good stuff, let's write a book about this.

I think it could also be argued that no-carb diets are frowned upon by God.

Sure, Man can not live by bread alone, but Jesus is the bread of life. To leave out bread would be to leave out Jesus.

And nothing gets you ready for a day with Jesus like a giant sweet tea and a Bo-Berry biscuit from the Jangle.

Us folks in the North are in Bojanglian exile waiting for God to raise up our Nehemiah to lead us back to rebuild the walls. . .

. . . in our arteries.

"The wall is broken down. . . . I sat down and wept and mourned for days."
